How are AI fashion models priced? How does AI image pricing work in the industry?
What should be the ideal price of an AI image is a question many companies are currently asking themselves and trying to gather enough information to be able to create benchmarks.
Here you go, I am spilling the beans on AI image pricing after having done this for two years commercially and successfully.
AI image pricing is a function of this equation.
Formula = Cost of Input Images + Cost of Tool + Cost of Generation & QC + Cost of Postproduction + Cost of Creation Direction
Cost of Input Images
Now we know users who are spending a lot of money on their input images, they are shot professionally on a fit model and users who are putting it on a hanger. These input images can range from 5$ each to 100$ each for a complex 3 people shot.
The main criteria for shooting good input images are to ensure good lighting on the product, so you can use an iPhone, but the light should be exceptionally good for it to read every detail on the product.
Cost of Tool
The tool you choose will have a credit system, for example at Caimera we don’t want users to feel penalized for trying to achieve creative direction, we have unlimited generation for a per product charge. And edit image features, upscale and product integration is free and unlimited.
For a high-end editorial image, you can budget the cost in Caimera which can range between 1$ per image for Click and 5$ per product for Fluid.
Cost of Generation & QC
Nah, the images don’t just generate by themselves, humans are very much a part of the process and the cost of someone taking the brief, generating the image and then QC by a supervisor is very much a part of AI image generation. This cost can vary a lot.
Cost of Postproduction
The one department not going out of job because of AI is retouching. In fact, I think it's going to be even bigger teams till AI catches up. The cost of editing an image can be around 5$ to 100$ depending on the details one might want retouched. As of July 2025, AI image generation requires you to carefully retouch ensuring product accuracy, we are certain that this will change in a matter of few months and are actively working on it as a team. More intricate or complicated garments require more post processing. Postproduction can also include resizing or renaming of images as per the client's requirements.
Cost of Creation Direction
We know people are charging 1$ per image and 1000$ per image - the difference is the creative direction - it’s priceless right. One might shoot a garment in a non-editorial pose standing straight in front of a wall with leaves like all the other brands and one might choose to stage the feeling of being in a surreal campaign. Ones that compete with the likes of Jacquems campaigns.
